Councillor David Carter

I have lived in Oadby St. Peter’s for 32 years, working for 28 years as a lecturer and manager in Further Education, which included managing partnerships with voluntary and community groups. I took voluntary redundancy to give my time to community and church activities in Oadby.

I was elected to Oadby and Wigston Borough Council in 2011 and chaired the local residents’ forum for four years. I also chaired the Greening the Borough Working Group, consistently championing environmental issues in our area. I am a trustee of two local charities.

If elected, I will continue to give my full commitment to the role of local councillor, representing your interests to the council and helping you to understand the council’s decisions and policies.

Dr. Ian Ridley

I am a Data Analyst in Leicester and have lived in Oadby St. Peter’s for 20 years. I know what it’s like to work, study and raise a family here.

I was a local primary school governor for 8 years and helped to form the SOS Oadby campaign of local residents to oppose changes to our Oadby schools in 2014. The schools re-thought their plans as a result of our petition.

I have a Doctorate in Climate Physics from Leicester University and have worked in transport, engineering and now education.

If elected, I would like to build on my record of listening to the concerns of residents and neighbours and helping to resolve issues like graffiti and parking.

I will continue the work to keep weekly bin collections and free shoppers’ parking in Oadby Town Centre.
